Satin Fabric In Laurel

Satin is characterised by a taught, luxurious weave that gives it a rich, wonderfully shiny natural sheen that makes it much sought after for evening gowns, soft furnishings and bedding all around the world. Originally made in China exclusively from silk, knowledge of the fabric and weaving techniques spread west along the Silk Road until it was predominantly produced in the Middle East.

Now made from a variety of fabrics, satin has a lustrous finish and beautiful drape that makes it ideal for soft furnishings. It is also extremely durable as it is made up of long, tightly woven fibres that makes it tougher than plainly woven fabrics.

We strongly recommend that you order a swatch before ordering any of our fabrics to help you decide if it is right for you.

Colour variations can occur between different batches of fabric and is to be expected with any natural fibre.  If you are using this fabric more than once in the same room, we recommend ordering the whole amount needed in one go to ensure that it comes from the same batch (this includes matching to any shades previously purchased from us). If this is not possible, please ask for a stock cutting from the current batch and check the fabric on receipt as, once cut to length, our fabrics are non-returnable unless faulty.
